San Ramon

Multi-Family Service Guidelines

Proper Set Out
  • Keep the area around the containers clear. Make sure our collection vehicles have access.

  • Avoid overloading the containers. The lids should close completely. If larger sized containers or extra service frequencies are needed, have your complex manager contact us.

  • Please remember that your collection containers must be put away, out of public view, after they are serviced.

  • Materials from a construction, demolition or landscaping project do not belong in the containers. Contact ACI of San Ramon to order a temporary debris box for these items or click here for Debris Box rates.

CALIFORNIA REGULATIONS REQUIRE RECYCLING & COMPOSTING!

Multi-Family complexes with 5 or more units must sort Recyclables AND Organic material out of the Garbage.

Visit www.CalRecycle.ca.gov for information about Mandatory Commercial Recycling.

Are You Compliant?
Information on legislation related to solid waste in California is available online here at the CalRecycle website.

We can help! Contact us! One of ACI of San Ramon’s Sustainability Specialists will visit your complex to:

  • Conduct waste assessments.
  • Make service suggestions.
  • Help train employees/tenants.
  • Provide posters and service guides.

PUT HAZARDOUS WASTE IN THE RIGHT PLACE

Hazardous items like pesticides, fertilizers, pool & photo chemicals, paint/varnish, toxic cleaning products, smoke detectors, mercury-containing items (thermometers, CFLs/fluorescent lights, etc.), unwanted medications, and sharps (needles, lancets, etc.) need to be taken to a hazardous waste collection facility.

For more information on how to properly dispose of hazardous items and e-waste, please visit www.sanramon.ca.gov/HHW.

WHAT BELONGS IN THE RECYCLING?

Help your community – Recycle Right!
Know what goes in the container, what doesn’t, & make sure everything is empty, dry & clean.

Avoid contamination! Many times, something you may think is recyclable actually isn’t. Make sure everything you put into the blue Recycling cart/bin is recyclable. Click here for a list of common “wishcycled” items.
